While working at government hospitals, we doctors witness the positive impact a basic nutrition related intervention has on the patient’s response to treatment for any disease. The government has a lot of food schemes but most of them provide foods rich mainly in carbohydrates. It was during a visit to a soya-milk manufacturing plant that the idea of working on a nutrition related social project crystallized. There was a mammoth need and indigenous cost effective solutions were available. It only required someone to take the lead and create and execute a plan to service the need. I’m happy with the progress we’ve made and the lives we’ve touched since we first started in 2014 and am motivated towards impacting a much larger population in the days ahead.
